The bastion called Blogging

I wanted to have an initial post initially because I did not want my next post to be my first post, and I hope my first post won't be my last post! But then I became very slightly ebullient about the menial task of breaking down why I am/others are, blogging.

Maybe it is only a connective tool, a tool where those who care about you enough to remember to take an extra step in the long journey of a day's internet adventures can form a mental snapshot of what you are thinking or what you have been doing.

Or, maybe it is a forum for an individual to be an individual, to have free, developed thoughts and not be unduly opposed, although the eyes of the community that see it automatically challenges the purity of the notion that this is all just for the writer. Blogging might be the opportunity for a quiet person to show the surprisingly sagacious activity that has harbored deep in his mind, chained down without a vehicle for expression until this point. Or

Or, maybe some of us are just a little too self-centered and want to see just exactly how much our pearls of wisdom will impact the lives of others for the eternal good. (any arguments?)

I think all of these hold some weight, so in the end I find it to be a fortification, a protected venue for the unification of friends with friends and thoughts with expression and expression with observance. It protects or maybe even creates a valuable opportunity. Whether it is an opportunity for you to check-in on my thoughts or an opportunity for me to check-out from my busyness, let's take advantage.
